Cash and $6 million in cannabis found in Southwest Side home
Six million dollars worth of cannabis and $5,000 in cash was found early this morning inside a Gage Park neighborhood home on the Southwest Side.
About 1 a.m. police were conducting surveillance during a narcotics trafficking investigation and were led to the home in the 5800 block of South Spaudling Avenue.
Inside, they found several bundles of cannabis with a street value of $6 milllion stacked throughout the residence along with more than $5,000 in cash, a digital scale, and an automated money counting machine, the statement said. A vehicle was also recovered near the home.
No one has been arrested but police are conducting an “ongoing investigation,’’
