A 43-year-old man died and his friend was injured when their motorcycles crashed on the outbound Kennedy Expressway before midnight Thursday.
Authorities say the man went to the ground while operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle about 11:40 p.m. near Canfield Avenue.
Police say he may have been trying to avoid another vehicle but aren’t certain. A friend of the man was driving a Honda motorcycle behind him and may have struck the man after he crashed.
Both motorcyclists were licensed and insured and police said they didn’t exhibit reckless behavior prior to the crash.
Charges aren’t expected against the surviving motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man who was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in serious condition
