The bus was stopped at Damen Avenue and Harrison about 6 p.m. on Friday when an argument between the driver and Washington broke out after the woman's CTA fare card was reported to be expired.
Washington got off the bus before throwing the alcohol at the bus driver.
The driver got off the bus and detained the woman until police arrived. Both were taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
