A West Rogers Park man was held hostage at gunpoint in a vehicle for several hours, pistol-whipped, burned with cigarettes, robbed and forced to try to raise $5,000 to buy his freedom.
Elizabeth Perry, 21, faces charges of armed robbery, burglary and kidnapping in the incident that stretched from March 4 to March 5. She was arrested Saturday afternoon at her home in the 1000 block of West Oakdale Avenue in Chicago. Cook County Judge James Brown ordered her held in lieu of $150,000 bond Sunday.
Perry rode with two alleged accomplices to pick up a 21-year-old man, who she knew, at his home in the 7000 block of North Ridge Avenue. The three drove the man around the area, and the men accompanying Perry beat and robbed him
Perry used the man’s keys to go into his home and steal a video game system, jewelry and money. The alleged kidnappers told the victim to make calls and raise $5,000, but he failed to get the money and the trio eventually released him
