The decomposed body of a man was in the trunk of a car on the West Side Saturday evening.
Police responded to a “check the well being” call at 525 S. Denvir Avenue – a tiny one-block street between Congress Parkway and Harrison Street about a block and a half west of Western Avenue – about 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
A spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office didn’t say if the body had signs of trauma.
Chicago police are conducting a death investigation

Officers discovered the body after receiving a call for a "well-being" check at 525 S. Denvir Avenue – a tiny one-block street between Congress Parkway and Harrison Street about a block and a half west of Western Avenue – about 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
The car was registered to a man who lives in the 4400 block of South Artesian Avenue who was reported missing on Friday.
Authorities found that man's home had been burglarized, and police said the car may have been taken during the crime.
Authorities were withholding the name of the victim Monday.
