A man who was wearing a construction vest when he robbed a Loop bank this morning is the same suspect who robbed a Gold Coast bank wearing a similar getup in January, the FBI said.
The man walked into Chicago Community Bank, 52 E. Lake St., and gave a teller a note about 10:30 a.m.The man was given money, then ran off, headed east on Lake Street toward Michigan Avenue.
Witnesses described the man as black, standing between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-2, with a scarf wrapped around his face, Perez said. He was wearing a yellow construction vest over a tan or brown coat.
No gun was displayed and no one was injured in the robbery.
FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde said the same man robbed the North Community Bank branch, 2 W. Elm St. on Jan. 12, while wearing a similar construction outfit.
