A man who attempted to get his dog out of the roadway was struck and seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver this afternoon on the city’s North Side
About 1:43 p.m., a 25-year-old man who tried to get his dog out of the road was struck by a Jeep SUV on the 2500 block of North Ashland Avenue.

According to a witness, the Jeep -- which appeared to be maroon -- stopped immediately after hitting the man but left the scene as emergency personnel arrived.

I have no clue why he ran away, perhaps he had something illegal with him. If he got hit by a car, I know he wouldn't like it for the other person to leave as well. I hope they find the man so he can face his consequences for speeding.
