A 68-year-old man who was found dead in his Marquette Park home last night was strangled and his death was ruled a homicide.
Isaac Hopgood, of the 6300 block of South Campbell Avenue, was found dead in his bed at 10:15 p.m. Thursday by a male relative who called police.
When police arrived they found the man with signs of trauma to his head but there were no signs of forced entry to his home.
Officials preliminarily believed that the man had sustained head trauma, but an autopsy conducted today determined that Hopgood had been strangled, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office
