Two people were injured after a shooting occurred in the Englewood neighborhood that ended with a vehicle crashing into a viaduct.
The incident happened at 6:34 p.m. as a man was driving a vehicle and was shot near the 7500 block of South Parnell Avenue.
The vehicle continued on for several blocks where it lost control and struck a viaduct near the intersection of 75th and Eggleston.
Police said at least one of the people sustained a gunshot wound to the hip.
The two people were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition
UPDATE:
The shot victim, a man in his 20s, was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
