Two teenaged boys have been charged as adults with robbing and sexually assaulting a Highland Park teen near the Congress Theatre on New Years Eve.
Aamwar W. Barbour, 16, and Terrance M. Ford, 15, were both charged as adults with kidnapping, robbery and aggravated criminal sexual assault for the attack that initially left the 18-year-old victim in a coma.
The young woman was sexually assaulted and beaten into a coma after she came to the city to attend a New Year's performance at the Congress.
But rather than going into the show the woman went into a restaurant on Milwaukee Avenue, across the street from the Logan Square theater, police said at the time.
While inside the restaurant, she met at least three people with whom she left. She was found a short time later on a lawn in the 2100 block of North Rockwell Avenue, apparently beaten unconscious during a sexual assault.
Police had arrested several teens, but released them as they awaited DNA evidence.
