A teenage boy was dead on the scene and three other people including a 14-year-old boy were hospitalized following a shooting tonight in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.
Police were called to the 5300 block of South King Drive at 8:02 p.m. for a report of shots fired and found four victims shot.
Paramedics learned a 15-year-old boy was dead on the scene.
The victim was shot in the chest.
Three other people were wounded and needed hospitalization.
Crews took a 14-year-old boy to the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital in serious to critical condition, a 30-year-old man in critical condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, and a 20-year-old man who was seriously wounded to University of Chicago Hospitals,
UPDATE:
Killed was George Howard, who lived a few blocks from where the shooting occurred, authorities said. He was standing in the vestibule with two men, 20 and 33, and the 14-year-old boy when when the gunman approached.
Howard was struck in the chest and the younger teen was hit in the back and his hand. The 20-year-old man was shot in the hip, and his older brother was wounded in the shoulder
