The pair who held it up are also suspected of robbing a different Chase Bank branch, 1230 N. Milwaukee Ave., on two prior occasions.
In today’s heist, police said two men entered the bank, 4854 W. Irving Park Rd., handed the teller a note, and fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
No dye pack was included in the proceeds and no one was hurt in the 1:30 p.m. holdup.
An “alert witness” had a description of the get-away vehicle and Chicago Police patrol officers stopped it.
The two robbers and three who were in the waiting car are in custody but have not been charged Friday evening.
Rice said the note implied they had a gun but they did not display it.
Police said the three inside the 1990s Chevrolet Caprice were taken into custody at Harlem and Grand avenues.
