Man flees attack but is shot in neck

A 19-year-old man was shot in the neck this morning in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.
The victim “took off running” when he saw the assailant approach him as he was walking in the 6200 block of South Champlain Avenue.
 Paramedics responded at 11:25 a.m. and took the victim in serious-to-critical condition to John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County
