Humboldt Park check-cashing firm robbed at gunpoint

A woman opening up a check-cashing business was accosted at gunpoint by two masked men during a robbery this morning in a Humboldt Park neighborhood mall.

The woman was opening up the front doors for the day at Check ‘n Go, 800 N. Kedzie Ave., at 8:15 a.m. when two men, one of whom was armed, confronted her and announced a “stick up,’’.

The robbers ordered her to open up the safe and give them the cash.
She complied and the two men who she does not know fled, police said. She was not injured during the robbery in the Chicago Kedzie mall.
The men were described as black and were 22 and 28 years of age, police said. They both had something covering their faces, possibly a scarf and were between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 and weighed between 160 and 180 pounds
