On the Southwest Side, two robbed several small businesses on Sunday.
The two men, in some cases wearing black ski masks, entered small businesses in the Chicago Lawn and Deering Districts. One man brandished an aluminum baseball bat and demanded money, while the second man guarded the door. The robberies all took place Sunday, starting with a store in the 3300 block of South Leavitt Street at 6:25 p.m., then continuing with a store in the 5200 block of South California Avenue at 7:39 p.m., and one in the 4100 block of West 47th Street about 9:05 p.m.
The robbers were both Hispanic and between 16 and 20 years old. One stood about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7 and weighed between 130 and 185 pounds, the other stood between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-10 and weighed between 130 and 165 pounds
