During the heated quarrel in the 5600 block of South Perry Avenue, the unidentified man shot the woman at 1 a.m. in the head and fled.
An autopsy Tuesday determined the victim, Robin Davis, died of a gunshot wound to the face after being shot at her home, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Davis was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:06 a.m., according to the medical examiner's office. Her death was ruled a homicide.
UPDATE:
Charges have been filed against a 29-year-old Chicago man in the shooting death of his girlfriend in their South Side home early Tuesday.
Police said Ronnie R. Ward, 29, of the 5600 block of South Perry Avenue, fled after the shooting but turned himself in to detectives later in the day.
He was charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of Robin Davis, 39, of the same Englewood neighborhood address. Davis was shot in the face.
