Body found in car pulled from South Branch of Chicago River

A body was discovered inside a car found submerged in the South Branch of the Chicago River today after workers from the city Department of Streets & Sanitation pulled the vehicle from the water.
Police News Affairs did not immediately know the victim’s gender or age, and since it was not known how the person died detectives are conducting a death investigation.
The submerged car spotted late this morning was thought to have been in the water for some period of time.
Authorities responded to the 3000 block of South Pitney Court -- on the part of the South Branch known as Bubbly Creek.
The vehicle, possibly a Dodge Charger, was caked with mud and appeared to have been under water for some time, becoming more visible after recent decreases in water levels
