52-year-old woman struck by a vehicle as she crossed a Washington Park neighborhood street Tuesday has died.
Cheryl Poole, of the 1900 block of West Harrison Avenue, was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
Geno Green, 25, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence charge in the accident that injured Poole at about 1:25 p.m. Tuesday.
Green was driving a white 2004 Jeep Liberty west on Garfield Boulevard, near Dearborn Street, when he struck Poole who was crossing the street, police said. The woman was struck and thrown onto the pavement by the vehicle.
Poole had been taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital where she later died.
Green also faces a marijuana possession charge and has been cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian, failing to carry a driver’s license and failure to reduce speed.
