A 27-year-old man was shot and critically wounded in the South Shore neighborhood this evening.
The shooting took place in the 2200 block of East 71st Street about 6:40 p.m.
The man was wounded in the stomach and the upper left arm.
UPDATE: DOA The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the man as Darius Knowles, of the 7400 block of South Kingston Avenue. Knowles was standing on the street when a red minivan pulled up and an unknown person got out, firing four shots at the him. He was wounded twice in the torso and once in the upper left arm
