A 16-year-old boy was seriously wounded in a shooting this morning in the city's Humboldt Park neighbor.
About 5 a.m., the youth and another person stepped outside to smoke on the 1400 block of North Central Park Avenue on the West Side when a beige or tan colored GMC pulled up.
Someone jumped out of the SUV and fired several shots at the boy and the witness. The boy was struck in his torso area, but the witness was not injured.
The boy's family drove him to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was listed in serious condition
