A 53-year-old man was shot during an attempted armed robbery just before 11 p.m. Friday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
A man approached him in the 4100 block of West Carroll Avenue and demanded money. The victim tried to knock the gun away and run from the robber.
He was unsuccessful.
After sustaining gunshot wounds to his shoulder and leg, he was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition
