Three woman were injured after being shot by a man wielding a shotgun in the South Chicago neighborhood.
The shooting happened at about 6 p.m. on the 9300 block of South Jeffrey Boulevard.
The victims included a 66-year-old woman, a 63-year-old woman and a 49-year-old woman.
The shootings occurred after the 66-year-old woman confronted a man who she believed had earlier burglarized her home.
The man apparently shot the three women, injuring one in the thigh, a second in a leg and a third in the arm.
Two of the women were taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital and the third refused treatment. Their wounds were not considered life-threatening.
