Two 14-year-old boys were charged as juveniles for using a BB gun to rob a woman of her iPhone at a Loop 'L' platform.
The quick relay of the robbers' description to police lead to a quick arrest of the youngsters aboard a southbound train shortly after the robbery.
The robbery happened on the platform of the CTA Red Line's Harrison Street platform at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday
The two teens -- one of them armed with a BB handgun that resembled a real pistol -- approached the 19-year-old victim who had just gotten off a train and demanded her iPhone.
The woman handed over the phone to the robbers, who then fled on a southbound train. The victim quickly notified CTA personnel who then called police about the robbery. Authorities stopped the train at the Cermak-Chinatown stop and arrested the two youths based on the description given by the victim.
Officers also recovered the stolen iPhone and the weapon used by the teens.
One of the boys was cited in a delinquency petition with misdemeanor theft, while the second boy was cited for having a replica weapon,
