The assault occurred on Sept. 4 at 4:15 a.m. as the woman was asleep in a relatives vehicle which was in a parking lot in the 11600 block of South Halsted Avenue.
A man entered the vehicle on the driver's side and drove the vehicle to the 12000 block of South Morgan Street where he sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.
The woman was able to escape and notify police, .
The man is described as black, with a dark complexion, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, between 190 and 200 pounds, police said. He had tattoos on his arms, a salt-and-pepper mustache and beard, reddish eyes and a large belly
He was wearing a fitted cap, a short, faded haircut, black gloves with red stitching with the fingers cut out, dark khaki pants and combat boots.
