A 13-year-old boy was critically wounded and a 20-year-old man was injured tonight in a shooting in the city's Rogers Park neighborhood.
The 13-year-old old suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and the man suffered a wound to the right shoulder in the 6800 block of North Ashland Avenue at about 7:30 p.m..
The boy was taken to Children's Memorial Hospital in critical condition, while the man was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in serious condition.
UPDATE:
The three male victims, ages 13, 15 and 19, were sitting on a fire hydrant near the corner when a gunman approached and opened fire, hitting all three, police said.
The 13-year-old was struck in the chest while the 19-year-old old was hit in the left shoulder, police said. The 15-year-old boy suffered only graze wounds to his arm and back.
