Police Officer , motorcyclist hurt in South Side head-on crash

A motorcyclist and a Chicago police officer were injured in a head-on traffic crash this morning on the city's South Side.
The motorcycle collided with a marked police SUV around 2 a.m. in the 8500 block of South Chicago Avenue, police said.
The motorcyclist was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition. The man's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
