An 18-year-old man has died two days after he was found shot in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, officials said tonight.
The shooting happened Wednesday about 6:22 p.m. on the 6100 block of South Normal Avenue, said Police News Affairs Officer Dan O'Brien.
The man, now identified as Devonte Childress of the 500 block of West 63rd Street, was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital where he died today, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Another victim of the same attack, a 15-year-old boy, was taken in good condition to Comer Children's Hospital, O'Brien said.
As of 8:30 p.m. tonight no one was in custody for the shootings. Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.
