Man shot multiple times on West Side

A 19-year-old man was seriously wounded when he was shot in the Lawndale neighborhood early this morning, police said.
At 1:28 a.m., police responded to a man shot in the 3900 block of West Polk Street, according to police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.
The man was approached by a group of people and a fight ensued, police said.
He was shot multiple times and fled the scene, according to a police news release. A relative took him to a hospital.
He was listed in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital, Gaines said.
No one was in custody and Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
