Police late Tuesday searched for a gunman who shot a man in the head while stopped in traffic in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
The wounded man was a passenger in a vehicle stopped at a red light at the intersection of Grand and Sacramento avenues just before 6 a.m., police said.
As the 23-year-old victim and the driver waited, a gold-colored minivan pulled along side the vehicle. Someone inside pulled out a .45-caliber handgun and fired at the victim two or three times, striking the man in the head, police said.
The victim was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital. His condition wasn’t immediately known.
Police couldn't provide detailed descriptions of the shooter or the minivan.
