A 47-year-old man was shot and wounded during a quarrel on the city's West Side , police said this morning.
Police said the victim was approached by another man who struck up an argument with him at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 5200 block of West Crystal Street .
During the argument, the second man pulled a handgun and shot the victim in the abdomen before fleeing the scene on foot, police said. Police didn't say what the argument was about.
The wounded man was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
Police had no one in custody early today. Grand Central Area detectives were handling the investigation.
