Son charged in mother's stabbing death

A Chicago man suspected of stabbing both his parents to death in separate incidents was charged this morning with killing his mother. But his father's slaying remains under investigation, police said.
Cezar Henry Waskowski, 30, of the 3700 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, is scheduled to appear in bond court later today. He is charged with first-degree murder in the early Monday morning stabbing death of his 67-year-old mother, Henryka Waskowski, outside the Northwest Side bar she owned.
Waskowski's 73-year-old father, also named Cezar, was found fatally stabbed later that day in his home, where his son also lived, by police investigating the slaying of his wife, who lived apart in the 6400 block of West Berteau Avenue.
Police said Henryka Waskowski was chased down the street and stabbed about 2 a.m. Monday outside her tavern--Henryka's--in the 5700 block of West Irving Park Road. Also stabbed was a bar employee who tried to intervene.
The employee was stabbed in the back, but his wounds were minor and he was treated and released. Waskowski was charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery in connection with that attack.
