A 25-year-old motorcyclist was killed early this morning when he struck a sign at a construction site on the city’s Northwest Side, police said.
Killed was Ronald Bizeau Jr., of the 4000 block of North Melvina Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police say that Bizeau was riding his 1998 Suzuki motorcycle south in the 6100 block of North Harlem Avenue just after midnight when he struck the sign. The collision knocked Bizeau from his motorcycle, causing major injuries, said Officer Laura Kubiak, a police spokeswoman.
Bizeau was rushed to Advocate Luther General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead at 1:40 a.m., a medical examiner's spokeswoman said.
An autopsy was scheduled for today.
