A 22-year-old man was shot this morning during an attempted stickup at a Blue Line 'L' station on the city's West Side, police said.
The shooting happened at about 12:45 a.m. on a ramp leading down to the train platform at the Blue Line's Pulaski stop at 503 S. Pulaski Road, police said.
The would-be robber approached the victim on the ramp and demanded cash at gunpoint, but shot the victim before he could get anything, police said.
The gunshots hit the victim in the abdomen and thigh, said police spokesman Officer Hector Alfaro.
The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition. The would-be robber fled the scene on foot.
