A male driver was killed this morning when he struck the wall of a concrete overpass on the Far South Side, Chicago police said this morning.
The one-car accident occurred at 4:38 a.m. at 112th Place and South Hamlet Avenue near Interstate Highway 57, said Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
The accident disrupted traffic on northbound I-57, with police closing the West 111th Street exit ramp.
There were no other occupants of the 2000 Camry Toyota sedan than the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
