Daniel Sample, 31, of the 5300 block of West Crystal Street and Orlando White, 32, of the 5400 block of West Race Avenue, were both charged with armed robbery in connection with the robbery of a video game store in the West Chatham neighborhood, according to police.
White was also charged with aggravated fleeing police and cited for three traffic violations, police said.
About noon Thursday, Gresham District officers were on patrol in the 0-100 block of West 87th Street when they were flagged down by a man who said his store had just been robbed at gunpoint. The man identified the vehicle in which the robbers fled, and officers took chase, police said.
In an attempt to evade police, the robbers drove onto the Dan Ryan Expressway, but the officers and assisting units were able to stop the vehicle and take two men into custody without incident, police said.
Money and a 9mm handgun were recovered on the scene.
Sample and White are slated to appear in bond court later today.
