Police were conducting a death investigation to determine how a man found with possible trauma to his neck from a dog may have died.
Officers were called to the 3400 block of North Janssen Avenue for a well-being check just before 12:30 p.m. today, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety.
There, authorities found a 25-year-old man, dead from a possible drug overdose, but also showing signs of having trauma to his neck from his pit bull, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The man was declared dead on the scene at 1:13 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
Officers were called to the home after the man’s father had not heard from him for some time, police said
