An Aurora woman was charged over the weekend after she allegedly ran over a relative with a pickup truck during an argument, Aurora police said today.
Heather J. Baumann, 32, of the 600 block of Four Seasons Boulevard, was charged with aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery following the incident, which took place at Baumann’s residence around 11 p.m. Friday.
Police said Baumann and a 32-year-old male relative were arguing over something, and that when Baumann went to leave, the man stood in front of her truck in an attempt to stop her before she allegedly ran over him.
He was taken to Aurora’s Rush Copley Hospital with serious injuries, police said. He remained hospitalized Monday evening. A man who identified himself as the victim’s father answered the phone in the man’s room, but he declined to comment on his son’s condition.
Baumann’s bail was set at $200,000. According to the Kane County sheriff’s department, she posted bond on Saturday. However, the judge in bond court ordered her to not have any contact with the victim.
