A man who said he was shot this morning in the city's Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side was dropped off by friends at the hospital, police said.
The victim, whose age was not immediately available, was dropped off at the University of Chicago Hospitals about 3:20 a.m. by his friends, said Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
The man told police he was shot earlier this morning on the 6100 block of South Wabash Street, Greer said.
The man suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen. His condition was stabilized at the hospital, Greer said.
The circumstances behind the shooting were unknown. As of 4:15 a.m., no one was in custody. shooting. Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.
