A controversial proposal to increase the cost of city stickers for most vehicles while lowering it for electric and hybrid cars was set aside today.
The Chicago City Council member backing it insisted his effort is not dead, however.
The Finance Committee held the city sticker proposal for another day. That means the ordinance proposed by Ald. Proco "Joe" Moreno, 1st, will have to wait until after Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel and the new council are sworn in May 16. The idea also could wither on the vine, as do many council measures that don't get an immediate vote
