A North Austin woman has been charged with drunk driving in connection with the crash early Saturday that led to injuries for eight passengers in her SUV and the deaths of two others.
Kimberly Bradley, 39, was charged Sunday with multiple counts of aggravated DUI, after the crash in the 1200 block of South Kostner Avenue Saturday at about 3 a.m., according to a statement from Chicago police.
Police said Bradley was the driver of a 2003 Mazda SUV that was carrying 11 people as it headed north on Kostner. After the SUV veered into oncoming the lane and struck a 1995 Ford Probe, it flipped over and several people were ejected because they weren't wearing seat belts.
One person was reported dead at the scene and the other died at a hospital. Two other SUV passengers were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries, while the others were hospitalized with injuries that ranged from minor to critical, authorities said.
In all, Bradley, of the the 1300 block of North Parkside Avenue, was charged with 10 felonies, police said.
