A person was found dead under the Dearborn Street Bridge downtown this morning, perhaps from a drug overdose, police said.
Police and fire crews were at the Chicago Riverwalk north of Dearborn Street and Wacker Drive after someone called 911 about 10:15 a.m. to report someone unresponsive at that location, Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez said. Police were conducting a death investigation, he said.
Details about the person who died were not immediately available, but the victim has been tentatively identified as a heroin user and the death may be related to drug use, police said.
