Slaying happened about 11:15 p.m. on the 5700 block of South Lake Shore Drive, police said. Preliminary reports stated a 22-year-old woman was walking when a fight broke out and her assailant fired several shots, striking her in the head.
The woman was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
