A 31-year-old man was pronounced dead late Monday night after he was found stabbed multiple times in the city's Douglas Park neighborhood on the city's West Side.
The victim was identified as Ricardo Ortega of the 1900 block of West 22nd Place, according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The stabbing happened about 10:40 p.m. on the 1600 block of South Rockwell Street, said Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
Preliminary reports said two suspects exited a vehicle and began stabbing Ortega who was found lying on the street.
Police said the slaying was possibly gang-related. As of 2:30 a.m., no one was in custody.
