A 27-year-old man was left in critical condition after he was shot in the face and back Monday evening in the city's Bronzeville neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 7 p.m. on the 5000 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, police said.
Preliminary reports stated the man was standing on the street when two suspects approached him and one pointed a gun. The gunman shot the victim in the face and back before fleeing the scene, police said.
As of 10 p.m., no one was in custody for the shooting.
Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.
