Four people were wounded in separate shootings Wednesday night on the South and Far South Sides, police said.
The latest shooting happened about 10:07 p.m. on the 9600 block of South Peoria Street in the city's Washington Heights neighborhood, said Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
Preliminary reports said a 45-year-old man was shot multiple times in the leg. There was no information available about the man's condition or where he was taken for treatment.
About 30 minutes later in the city's Jeffery Manor neighborhood, another man was wounded in a drive-by shooting, Alfaro said.
That shooting happened on the 2200 block of East 100th Street. Preliminary reports said a man, described as in his 20s, was standing on the sidewalk when a vehicle drove by and someone fired shots. The man suffered a gunshot wound to his arm,
There was no information available about the man's condition.
A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized in good condition at South Shore Hospital after he was shot on the 8000 block of South Manistee Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien.
The shooting took place at about 8:30 p.m., he said.
Also at about the same time, a 48-year-old man was shot in the leg on the 7500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive in the Chatham neighborhood, O’Brien said.
In that shooting, the man was also listed in good condition and was being treated on the scene, O’Brien said.
