A 28-year-old woman was shot in the back and leg this morning in the city's Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, officials said. The shooting was one of three that occurred overnight.
The shooting happened about 3 a.m. on the 6600 block of South Carpenter Street, said Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
The victim was taken in stable condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Alfaro said.
