Two men were shot to death late Thursday night in separate incidents on the South Side, police said.
At 10:22 p.m. in the West Englewood neighborhood, a 30-year-old man was standing on the 6600 block of South Seeley Avenue when his attacker approached him and opened fire, according to police.
The assailant then sped away east on Marquette in a gray four-door car, police said.
The man who was killed was identified as Walter Brown, of the 6500 block of South Hoyne, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at 11:10 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

About an hour after that shooting, at 11:25 p.m. in the Englewood neighborhood, a 24-year-old man was found on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds in the 5700 block of South Emerald Avenue.
He was identified as Gartania Prince, of the 6100 block of South Wabash, a medical examiner's spokeswoman said. He was dead on the scene.
No other information was immediately available.
No one was in custody for either shooting, and Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.
