2 MEN SHOT IN LAWNDALE

The second shooting occurred around 9 a.m. near the Pink Line in the Lawndale neighborhood.
Two men, both around 19, were shot in the 2100 block of South California Avenue. They drove themselves to St. Anthony Hospital and were transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.
One of the men was shot in the abdomen, the other in the buttocks.

Woman shot multiple times in Lawndale

A woman was shot multiple times Wednesday night in the Lawndale neighborhood.
 She was standing on the sidewalk in the 2600 block of West 21st Place at 8:58 p.m. when a male approached and fired several shots at her.
 The woman, 36, was shot twice in the back and once in the arm.

Man shot dead in Little Village neighborhood

Just before midnight, Marcus Winsley, 23, was found dead in his back yard on the 2500 block of South Spaulding Avenue in the city's Little Village neighborhood.
He was shot in his head and chest, police said. Other circumstances surrounding his death weren't immediately available. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Man stabbed to death in Little Village neighborhood

An man was found dead with multiple stab wounds in the Little Village neighborhood this morning.
Someone called police to report a man getting beaten near the intersection of Kedvale Avenue and 26th Street. Police arrived at about 2:10 a.m. and found the man dead in the street.
Witnesses saw two men fleeing from the 4100 block of West 22nd Street after possibly beating on another person.

Man hurt in North Lawndale stabbing

A man was stabbed early Thursday in the Southwest Side North Lawndale neighborhood.
He was in the 1400 block of South Pulaski Road about 1:50 a.m. when he was stabbed in the leg.
The man -- an adult whose age wasn’t immediately known -- was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
No one is in custody and the motive for the attack was unknown as of early Thursday.

Man wounded multiple times in Little Village shooting

A 43-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds in a drive-by shooting in the city's Little Village neighborhood
The man was walking in the 4000 block of West 25th Street just before 11 p.m. Wednesday when a gunman inside a passing dark-colored vehicle opened fire, police said, citing early reports.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition.

Man shot, killed in Lawndale neighborhood

A 27-year-old man was shot and killed tonight in the city's Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.
Details remained murky hours after the shooting, reported at about 6:36 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Kedzie Avenue.
The victim was shot and wounded while driving in the area, his vehicle stopping a short distance from the police station.
The victim was shot in the head.
Fire department officials said an ambulance responded to the victim near 15th Street and Spaulding Avenue, about four blocks from where police said he was shot. It wasn't clear how the man got there.

Man, 18, fatally shot in Lawndale neighborhood

An 18-year-old man was shot dead late Monday in the West Side Lawndale neighborhood.
The victim, identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office as Sadarius Sims, was standing on the street with a group of people just before 10 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Kildare Avenue when the gunman walked up and opened fire.
Sims,, of the 5900 block of South Indiana Avenue, was shot in the shoulder and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Woman killed in West Side stabbing

A 32-year-old South Side woman died early this morning after she was stabbed Thursday night on the West Side in the city's Lawndale neighborhood.
Ragan McDougle of the 5100 block of South Dorchester Avenue was pronounced dead shortly before 6 a.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital.
 About 8:40 p.m. Thursday on the 2800 block of West Roosevelt Road, McDougle was involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical.
 An unknown suspect stabbed McDougle and fled the scene.

2 illegal aliens charged with armed robbery of Little Village health food store

Benajmin Marrero, 29, of the 2600 block of West Cermak Road, and David Lopez, 31, of the 2800 block of the same street, were each charged with one count of armed robbery and aggravated kidnapping.
Police said that shortly after obtaining a detailed description of the robbery suspects from the 47-year-old  store owner whose hands and feet they had tied with duct tape, they found them near an ATM machine where they had withdrawn cash from the store owner's account.
Marrero and Lopez entered the store in the 3100 bock of West 26th Street shortly before noon Monday and asked for a particular brand of hand cream. The owner recalled Marrero visiting the store last week, requesting the same product.
The owner began walking toward the rear stock room when Marrero grabbed her while brandishing a screwdriver and announced a holdup. After tying her up with duct tape, they rummaged through her purse, taking a cell phone, car keys and a bank card, they said. They then forced open the cash register and fled in the store owner's car.

32 year old shot in Little Village neighborhood

Shooting occurred about 9:19 p.m. Friday in the 3900 block of West 24th Street in the Little Village neighborhood on the West Side.
A 32-year-old man was riding a bicycle when he was approached by a car; after a “verbal exchange,” a passenger in the car‘s front seat fired a handgun at the bicyclist, hitting him in the abdomen. The offenders fled in an unknown direction, and the victim was taken in serious condition to Mt. Sinai Hospital.

Man slain in Little Village neighborhood

A 27-year-old man found unresponsive by police on Tuesday died of a gunshot wound.
Christopher Pinkins, 27, of the 4000 block of West 115th Street in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood, was found battered in the 3000 block of South Pulaski Road in the Little Village neighborhood.
Officers had gone to the South Pulaski address in response to a call about a person with a knife. When they got there, they found Pinkins. Witnesses told police he had been the subject of a beating.

Man shot to death near his West Side home

A 19-year-old man was shot to death late Wednesday just up the street from his North Lawndale neighborhood home.
Killed was William Sturgeon, of the 1600 block of South Karlov Avenue.
An autopsy is scheduled for this morning.
Sturgeon was shot multiple times on the same block where he lived at about 10:25 p.m. and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

 The girl was walking with her uncle on a parkway near an elementary school at 24th and California Avenue when shots rang out.
The girl was hit and taken to an area hospital. The girl was listed in serious-to-critical condition and was taken to Children's Memorial Hospital.

A woman in her 30s was shot in the back of her head this evening on the West Side in the Lawndale neighborhood.
The woman shot about 6:30 p.m. on the 3100 block of West Douglas Boulevard.

Man shot killed in Little Village drive-by

A 37-year-old man was killed in a drive-by shooting in the Little Village neighborhood.
The victim was identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office as Jose Gallardo, of the 2200 block of South Albany Avenue.
The shooting happened at about 12:45 a.m. in the 3000 block of South Drake Avenue.
Gallardo was standing on the street when a gunman inside a passing mini-van opened fire, striking him in the chest.
The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, but later died.
Police could only describe the mini-van as dark-colored and had no description of the gunman.

Man critically injured in West Side shooting

A man was critically injured this morning in a shooting in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, police said.
The man, described as being in his mid 30s, was shot at about 2:10 a.m. in the 2200 block of South Kirkland Avenue, police said.
He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
