3 wounded in separate shootings in city

Three people were wounded in separate shootings this evening on the city's South and West Sides, officials said.

The first shooting happened shortly before 5 p.m. on the 4900 block of South Wolcott Avenue in the city's Back of the Yards neighborhood.
Preliminary reports said a 35-year-old man was outside when he heard shots and felt pain. The man suffered a graze wound to his right lower back, police said. He refused medical treatment and left the scene.

About 6:10 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot on the West Side in the city's Austin neighborhood, police said.

The victim was on the 5000 block of West Concord Place when someone stepped out of an alley and began firing shots, striking the victim, police said. The man was taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital with gunshot wounds to his buttocks.

The third shooting happened about 6:30 p.m. in the city's West Englewood neighborhood.

Preliminary reports said a 20-year-old man was shot in the arm on the 6400 block of South Bell Avenue.
He also refused medical treatment, police said.

Another teen killed in Chicago

At 12:03 a.m. in the North Austin neighborhood, a teen was shot in the 1500 block of North Leamington Avenue, according to a release from police News Affairs.
The teen was on the sidewalk when a male attacker came out of an alley and shot him. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
Terrance Boyd, 15, of the 3800 block of West 13th Street, suffered a gunshot wound to the neck, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
A pronouncement time was not immediately available.

TWO MEN SHOT ON WESTSIDE

Two men were shot about 4 p.m. on the 1500 block of North Leamington Avenue, according to police. The two were standing at that location when a gunman emerged from a nearby gangway and fired.

A 31-year-old man was struck in the left arm and was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition was stabilized, police said. A 22-year-old man was wounded in the right leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

Cops: Woman shot in domestic dispute on West Side

A 27-year-old woman was hospitalized after she was shot in a domestic dispute today in the South Austin neighborhood, police said.
The shooting happened about 10:24 a.m. on the 5000 block of West Division Street, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Anne Dwyer.
The woman sustained a gunshot wound to her buttocks and was taken in good condition to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital
