One man was killed and another seriously injured by gunfire this morning in the South Side's Gage Park neighborhood. The incident happened at about 7:50 a.m. in the 5800 block of South Washtenaw Avenue.
One man, believed to be in his 20s, died from this injuries, while the other man, who is 28 years old, was in critical condition.
The man who died was identified as Salvador Rodriguez, a resident of the block where the shooting happened.
The men were walking along the block when an unknown gunman in a red minivan opened fire, said Chicago Police Officer Robert Perez. It was not immediately known if the gunman got out of the vehicle.
